Staunton City Schools is incredibly lucky to have Dr. Siegel in its corner, working on behalf of students, staff, and the community. One of the many things that has impressed me about Dr. Siegel has been her drive to reach out and really listen to teachers about how she can help support them as well as help Staunton City Schools foster an inclusive environments where all students have the opportunity to thrive. I was thrilled to learn she is running for another term! As both a long-time teacher in the SCS system and a parent whose children attend Staunton City Schools, I am so grateful for the dedication and drive Dr. Siegel has committed to our school community. Despite her busy schedule, she makes all aspects of SCS a priority. She attends plays, cheers for our students at sporting events, she voluteers her time as a proctor for the 24 tournament, and so much more! Dr. Siegel is open-minded, approachable, and works incredibly hard to make our schools a better place for all. I am grateful for her service. I have had many conversations with Kristin over the past few years and she has always been a valued soundboard and supporter of Staunton City Schools. I’ve taught both her children, and it says a lot about her faith in our division that she entrusts them to our care and to the community we’re building.
As a teacher for the division, I often attend SCS events. She is always there with us at plays, band concerts, and sporting events supporting our kids, too. She is often in our buildings having real conversations with educators and staff about how to support all involved instructionally and emotionally. She’s down to earth and willing to listen and problem solve.
